Research was carried out by the Renewable Energy and New Technologies Safety Certification – CBOiNT. The report shows that the spread of fire on the surface of the FIT VOLT system (compared to other photovoltaic solutions) does not occur during the entire test because we used a very durable steel base for photovoltaic panels.
The outer roof element, which is also the surface of the photovoltaic module, does not ignite or melt. The FIT VOLT system heats up only slightly and does not cause heat to transfer through thermal conduction through subsequent layers of roof covering to the interior of the facility.
The photovoltaic installation itself is not a factor causing a fire – the risk of fire includes factors such as incorrect installation of the ventilation system, voltage surges and a malfunctioning optimization system. To eliminate these factors, we use high-quality optimizers from the proven manufacturer SolarEdge, certified connectors and an electrical system that minimizes the possibility of errors when connecting cables.
The roof is mounted on openwork formwork, which ensures ventilation of the slope. Additionally, it is equipped with an AIR ventilated ridge cap with factory perforation, which allows for better air flow. 🌬
The optimizers are mounted on a also ventilated track along the edge of the roof. Their task is to control the operation of the panels, thanks to which they maintain safe voltage and temperature of the installation.
In addition, we have obtained a number of other certificates for the FIT VOLT panel in fire safety tests. Among them, we can also distinguish Broof T1 from CERTBUD, according to which our panels are classified as a “fire-retardant element”.
